Summer Counselor

 Monroe Harding has a seasonal, 40 hours per week, temporary, entry-level position that entails supervising a cottage of eight adolescent males in a residential living program during the Metro Nashville Public School summer break.  Wage is $9.50-$10/hr. pending candidate’s experience.

 Responsibilities include: being a consistent role model; managing and maintaining a structured schedule; supervising youth; insuring youth participation in program activities; actively participating with youth in all program activities; transporting youth; and providing guidance and support to youth.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in social services related field or high school diploma and one-year relevant experience.  Must be able to begin training for position a week prior to May 22 and be able to work the entire summer as listed below:

Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00 am - 3:00 pm, May 22-August 11.

11-7 Independent Living Counselor (Part-Time Position)

Monroe Harding has a vacant part-time position that requires staff to remain awake during the night. Candidates need to be aware that they will be responsible, during the overnight shift, for young adults living independently in off-campus housing.

Hours: Part-time counselors will work 11 pm - 7 am.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred. Will consider applicants with at least one-year’s experience in residential setting.

11-7 Weekend Residential Counselor (Part-Time Position)

Monroe Harding, Inc. has a vacant part-time position that requires staff to remain awake during the night. Candidates need to be aware that they will be responsible, during the overnight shift, for youth living in on-campus housing.

Hours: P/T Counselors will work 11 pm - 7 am on Fridays and Saturdays.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred. Will consider applicants with at least one-year’s experience in residential setting.

Weekend Residential Assistant (Part-Time Position)

Responsibilities: Entry level, part-time position working with adolescent boys that requires an organized and responsible person who can adapt to changes in scheduling and responsibilities. Responsible for assisting other counselors with weekend schedule and activities as assigned by weekend coordinator. Cottage coverage for staff during time off, supervise youth while on cottage, office duties, medication dispensing, work pickups, and other duties as assigned.

Hours: 15 hours: Friday and Saturday 5pm-10pm and Sunday 9am-2pm, with flexibility.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree preferred, Associate’s degree required.

FILLED - Youth & Family Counselor (Part-time Position)

Monroe Harding, Inc. is seeking to fill the position of part-time Youth & Family Counselor.

The perfect candidate will be able to facilitate evening groups with youth ages 16-18 years of age; write group notes; receive and log in prescription medication; administer medication to youth; document medication administration; transport youth as needed to and from appointments; provide guidance, structure and re-direction for youth; and administer drug screens. The candidate will be expected to participate as a team member with co-workers; assist in the planning of family centered activities/programming and assist Youth and Family Director and Coordinator as needed.

Hours: Monday – Friday, 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm

Qualifications: Bachelors degree in social services field preferred. Associate degree is required. Experience working with adolescents is a plus.
